Rethinking Pink This FW17

With a sister 8 years younger then me, I always loved dressing her up as if she was my little doll; as an adult I’m more then guilty of dressing up my daughter as little princesses. But as my sister started to grow up I’ll never forget the day she turned to me after I praised her cuteness and said ‘I don’t want to be cute I want to look chic’. That is what kids fashion is all about; letting our kids express themselves just like we do as adults. So it’s time to rethink the classic view on pink as a cute color because designers have reinvented the girly girl color for any type of girl to rock.

With fall finally here many think that it’s time to put away their dresses and skirts and reach exclusively for pants and leggings. With long sleeve dress options and designers using quality materials we can feel polished in pink dresses throughout the cooler months. Chloe is constantly leaving us in awe from the rich textiles she uses matched with her tasteful designs. All three of the following dresses were Inspired from the adult collection so she will absolutely glow in these pieces as she struts around like a little adult.  The waffle/crepe dress is stunning with floral lace around the chest, long billowy sleeves and a flared bottom. Our favorite from this seasons collection is the floral print silk dress that radiates an elegant and timeless look. With a fully pleated bodice and skirt, Chloe’s salmon-pink dress is made from a soft cotton and wool blend so she will stay cozy when out and about on a breezy day. We also have a few styles that feature short sleeves but work great with a chic grey and gold cardigan from Marc Jacobs and some stockings like Fendi’s ‘Monster’ tights or Chloe’s ribbed grey cotton tights. Our Model is featured to the left in Marni Salmon dress paired with Marni grey and pink tights for a coordinated outfit. Young Versace Neoprene dress and Rykiel Enfant hot pink dress with patches are both stunning statement pieces that are for the trend setters.

To add just a touch of pink to an everyday outfit we have tons of stylish options when it comes to long sleeve shirts that can easily be matches with pants, skirts and leggings. Graphic t-shirts were all the rage this summer as everyone loves to express themselves from of a simple phrase or picture on their top because no words are needed to be said. We have hand selected a few different pink tops from a variety of fashion houses so she can pick her favorite style. Karl Lagerfeld uses his pet Choupette as his muse for many of his kid’s graphic tops. Available on PetitNY in pink is the cool cat DJ Choupette long sleeve and the Choupette in love bright pink top. Some fun options are the Zadig & Voltaire ‘Happy’ top, Rykiel Enfant Cat & Glasses printed shirt, and the little eleven paris lightning bolt sweatshirt. All made from super soft and cozy cotton blends with rounded necklines for a comfortable and relaxed fit. Lastly, we love when fashion houses use their logos in the graphic prints because they make the tops iconic. Fendi’s long sleeve top features the striking signature ‘Bad Bug’ eyes and the classic ‘FF’ logo. Versace’s light pink Medusa Logo top is a cute every-day-piece that goes great with a pair of jeans or leggings and features the classic Medusa logo on the front.
